Web - Loving Times (Trance Edit), Shockwave Flash & does Kandi mean anything anymore ಠ︵ಠ ?
Currently listening to this, I want you (yes, YOU, Adobe Flash fan new & old ಠωಠ) to tell me you don't envision some sort of edit over top of it that you can only watch in 360p or less. While I'm currently listening to that I'm also staring at The Internet archive combing through Adobe products, specifically looking for a copy of Director, as a grandiose idea has struck me.
I think I ought to make some kind of Flash content, as best as I can in the modern era. Part of the reason being is that you can learn about a lot of bits of culture solely through (what was kind of the original) short form content. Ignoring the fact that I keep saying "content", I initially started to learn about some of the genres I listen to now through a lot of Flash animations, one of which that I saw many many years ago in the wild, will either be re-uploaded to YouTube, or will be featured in a set at some point (it's long enough for it! And the audio fidelity is better than most!??? (゜ロ゜)). Beyond that, I don't think Flash stuff gets enough credit or recognition from people outside of the hard cemented classics, to put you guys on, a site that I've been combing through for the past few years is this, a dedicated user-reliant database of smaller, much more personal and obscure repository of some of the more underground bits of Flash content. I will never say the idea of Flash has been tainted by the Internet we have now or anything, I just don't think people realize that it was kind of shit, it was just an easier way for people to compress & port memes and other garbage to send to their friends, outside of the games we all know and love, majority of Flash stuff is just straight bullshit (╥﹏╥). I do think people hype it up way more than it deserves however, while yes we know of the amazing stuff it yielded, the archive I linked is a prime example of just how much filth there is, while not all bad, it was overall just a form of micro media for people to literally just play around with, a blessing and a curse. ┐(´ー｀)┌
Despite everything, I thank Flash for the pipe...idea...That it created? There's so many scenecore digs at it today that it's created itself an image of being prime for animation loops & stuff, which is a good thing, because it was!!! Obviously you have to take into account cultural appreciation and appropriation (I know more than one pseudo-grifter, part of the reason I'm writing this ಠ_ಠ), but I think a revolution of new creations and users as a tribute to both the long and short form stuff would really take off hard, and that's what I plan to do if I can help it along! Without going too deep on it (it's a watch and learn kinda thing -w-) the idea I want is to put everything that made Flash a community effort on display, and tie in music both older, newer, and on brand for the era to unify 3 generations of music ive come up with thanks to Flash and the rest of the Internet!
