It took me 7 years to finish Bleach for the official series to misgender my 2nd favorite character
Yes you are reading that right, I started watching mainline Bleach in 2017-18 before...ummm... everything you know me for now?
Before @'ing Synders & Gatorade on Insta (real day 1's remember) I was still on about season 3 and was still watching completely alone slumped out on my couch with the lights off, I was a very sheltered child. You can take that however you want to, it makes no difference to me, but Bleach sort of broke the ceiling for me and showed me a new full fledged expansive universe approach to media I was generally unfamiliar with at the time. As everyone did, struggling through the Bount Arc left me bored with the show, and around this time was when I had started picking up music as a hobby while watching other Long-Form animes such as S.A.O., JJBA (which I've yet to finish), G.G.O. (Because I include both forms), Seven Deadly Sins, a little bit of Fairytale (longer, deep rooted personal lore), Hikaru No Go (s/o Calvin), and Akame Ga Kill. All of this was around 2019-2020 when I was still screwing around in Bandlab messing with loop packs, having no particular purpose other than it was fun to mess with new sounds, WHICH IT STILL IS BUT I MAKE MY OWN!!! (＾3＾♪). Come 2021, Deko would drop Nu Radio!, around the time I had started narrowing down a sound I wanted to work on and had logged a few shitty hours in Bandlab's actual DAW layout under an alias I now associate with my deadname unfortunately, at this time I was closing out Bleach's Bount Arc and getting hyped up having made it this far with a slim few dedicated fans who'd I'd been talking with about animes and the like, I was just happy to have some people to finally talk shop with over cool media I liked!
(Note, 2021 I am forever grateful for one specific track off Nu Radio! for sounding like absolute shit to me until I really needed it later (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥｀))
Through 2022-23 is when I broke out and got running with everything, still figuring myself out entirely, music kept me level throughout high school and is where I made some of my best online friends and fans. Around here is when I actually stopped watching Bleach entirely, fully finishing the Bount Arc and getting through the transitional episodes between it and the Arrancar Arc but not actually starting it. However this wasn't a time where nothing got done (•>•), only now noticing this(!), but Deko had been staying in my rotations consistently due to him being a giant weeb in a pivotal time in my production journey, because of that I instilled a sort of trust in him and branched out to listening to artists he'd worked with which really set my style in stone. This being the case specifically with none other than my #1 artist o.a.t., blackwinterwells! (But from there, is another story)
Now, present day, come 2024-25 all other animes previously listed had been finished up unless otherwise stated, except for Hikaru which I'm still watching slowly. I had been inching further into the Arrancar Arc before hitting it's developing point when I got my first ever job (again, not a complete neet!!! (⌐■-■)), during which my manager, who was oddly someone I went to school with (• ▽ •;;;;;;), had also picked it back up and had been refreshing himself with the story, it was his 3rd watch through! At that time I pushed myself wicked hard to get through it to be able to talk about anime with someone again, like I had previously, long story short I watch almost 15 seasons in the span of 2 and a half months and caught up, where we did end up making conversation over a closing shift one night which I really enjoyed! Past that I consistently put a few seasons down every month or so until we get to current time, as in the past 3 months...or whatever... I blitzed TYBW because it wasn't written and paced like shit!
For you, I've written out my entire watch history of Bleach and how it's fit into my music career and the works. Now then, Tite, I hate your work it's so awesome and I love it. I knew I didn't like Yumichika for a reason, but have been given ample reason not to now! I both thank, and detest you for writing a character so evidently trans then having their official status be male and letting the wiki's thrash them (╥﹏╥) let a girl live!!!
