Mazda? Mazda!
If you've been following for long enough and put it all together yourself, it's likely your still wondering to yourself "why Mazda?". To be honest with you, I don't know why it's stuck with me the way it has, but I do know that it's not something to be overlooked (◡ ω ◡)
Being straight, I drive a Nissan, but the project vehicle is a 2008 Mazda 5 (Premacy, foreign).
I can't remember a time where the van wasn't in my life and I certainly can't recall a negative experience with it either, especially not when it comes to reliability, despite the thing being a very rare manual spec. It's the car I literally grew up on and in, it sort of put a brand trust in me that only grew overtime meeting fellow owners of all models of Mazda in general. I've found the general consensus to be that a Mazda will take care of you if you take care of it, and that they are subtly very driver focused cars for those that seek a little bit of an edge out of them. In one way people take Mazda at face value for their sports cars and the work they've done with the Rotary engine, literally making every car they put one in road ready and reliable, but it's all the stuff you don't see that people really enjoy out of their vehicles when you get down to it.
(the rare Diesel HB Cosmo is widely loved in Indonesia! \( ╹▽╹ ))
Mazda is somehow able to make a car for people to simply think about why they like it. Modern reviewers almost always take a negative stance on every model they've tested but always look back on it with a positive for how it makes them feel when driving it. Most Mazda's have been pitted against cars that they themselves outclass or vice versa and the results of these pairings usually end up being overwhelmingly positive or negative respectively. Mazda doesn't have an issue making a car everyone can afford and love reliably, they have a problem with people wanting their cars to be something they're not, case in point is where the MX-30 was judged against a Pallisade.
Call it loyalism or whatever, I love these cars to death (・﹏・). They've almost always been sidelined to bigger and better, but to some people a simple 1.3 or 2.3T is all they need for years and years.
The van doesn't get out much at the moment, no particular reason, it just needs a good deep wash (an undertaking, since I don't trust the roof rack in an automatic wash ಠ_ಠ) and sway bar bushings, the old ones aren't gonna kill me, but the smallest bump makes their presence known...
With the nice weather coming up, maybe it'll get out and stretch its legs some and go some places to help me create some stuff (^w^)
